One-hour approved CE Course, "Avoiding Confirmation and Expectation Bias in the Fire Origin and Cause Investigation," will be presented by Lance Heath, Senior Fire Investigator, with Unified Building Sciences & Engineering, and his canine partner, Gage, a German Shepherd trained in accelerant detection.  The course is intended to educate the licensee on the best practices for avoiding and/or mitigating confirmation and expectation bias in the fire origin and cause investigation.  Attendees will have a better understanding of basic requirements for Certified Fire Investigators when investigating fire scenes.  Topics will include basic methodology, expectation bias, and limitations of technical reviews.  Case studies and demonstrations will be presented.
