FEBRUARY 2021
TABLE OF CONTENTS
IF YOU HAVE NOT RENEWED YOUR MEMBERSHIP FOR 2021, NOW IS THE TIME TO DO SO.
FORMS ARE AVAILABLE BELOW.
Dear HCA Friends and Members,
For 86 years the HCA has relied on its membership dues in addition to donations and sponsorships from events to help fund the organization and its goals. As you are all aware, the worldwide pandemic has prevented the HCA from raising any funds save and except funds from its fall golf tournament. With us now in 2021, HCA would appreciate if you would renew your HCA membership or sign up for HCA membership. The annual membership fee is $60.00 if paid by check or $62.50 if paid on line.

If you would like to renew your membership or sign up for an HCA membership, please email Barbara Buckley at bbuckley@houstonclaimsassoc.com and she will arrange for payment either through a Pay Pal invoice or by mailing her a check.
We greatly appreciate your help during these difficult times and thank you in advance for your help and generosity. Here is to a great 2021!
Thank you,
The Houston Claims Association Board of Directors
THANK YOU
Since the pandemic, HCA’s activities have been very restricted. HCA has had some excellent virtual programs presented and we would like to thank each presenter for a job well done.
September’s program was “Mobile Device Forensics” presented by Dale Coddington of ProNet Group.
HCA Board of Director, William Cho of Matthews Daniel presented “Insurance Risk Change Due to Climate Change” in October.
Michael Craddock of ESi spoke on “Out-of-Sight, Out-of-Mind: Hidden Utility Issues” in November.
Arm Dynamic’s Mac Lang and Kerstin Baun presented the December webinar, “Best Practices in Amputee Rehabilitation.”
Diana Navarro of Sprott Newsom Quattlebaum & Messenger, P.C. presented the January webinar, “Controverting Cost and Necessity Affidavits”.
Thank you to all of you. Your time and efforts are very much appreciated.
FEBRUARY CE WEBINAR
HCA’s February webinar will be “Using Animations and Graphics in Biomechanical Analysis and Accident Reconstruction“ , presented by Ming Xiao and Xin Ye of Rimkus Consulting Group, on Wednesday 10, 2021, at 10:00 am. Register your attendance using this link: CLICK HERE TO RSVP
If you have a specific topic you wish to have presented or speaker you would like to hear, please contact any Board Member.
2021 CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Until we are able to meet as a group, the monthly CE courses will be presented virtually and will be for 1 hour TDI approved CE credit. Because HCA will not be able to hold a 4-hour course, the months of July and August have been added to the program calendar. That will give you the opportunity to earn 12 hours of CE during the year.

SPRING GOLF TOURNAMENT
HCA’s 2021Spring Golf Tournament will be held at the Wildcat Golf Club, 12000 Almeda Road, Houston, TX 77045, on Tuesday, April 13., 9:00 am shotgun start. We are excited about the event and ask that you consider sponsoring a beverage cart or hole and start putting together a team or two. Fun activities are being added. Plans are being finalized and the packet will be out soon. In addition to helping fund the scholarship program, part of the proceeds will go to a charitable organization. 2019’s donation to MD Anderson was $7,000.00. Help us make that, and hopefully more, possible again this year.
MEMBERSHIP UPDATES
Welcome new members/associate members: Art Flanagan, Chad Sellers, Donna Thomisee and Larry West.
During our down time, HCA has lost several long-time members: Walter Wells, Sherman Lajmer, and former Board of Directors President, Ron Watson. Sympathies go out to their families.
Sincere thank you is extended to all of the sponsors. Because these sponsors are very important to the Association, you are encouraged to consider them as you look for service providers.
